FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

A Modular Home is built in sections in a factory and assembled on a permanent foundation. It meets the same building codes as traditional homes in Canada.
A Manufactured Home (also known as a mobile home) is built to a different standard and is usually placed on a steel frame with wheels. Modular homes offer higher durability, resale value, and comfort — they are permanent, not mobile.

Yes — properly built modular homes are designed to handle Canadian winters with ease. Unlike trailers or mobile homes, modular homes are constructed to meet or exceed local building codes, including insulation and weatherproofing standards required in cold climates.
At Atlantic Modern Homes, all of our models are engineered for year-round use in Atlantic Canada. This means:
High-efficiency insulation (walls, roof, and floors)
Triple-sealed windows and doors
Durable materials built for snow, wind, and freezing temperatures
A well-installed modular home performs just like a traditional site-built home — and in many cases, even better in terms of energy efficiency and long-term durability.

Our homes are all constructed to the National Building Code of Canada and are CSA Approved.
Protecting the Homeowner: Warranties provide a legal guarantee that AMH or our Warranty Partners are responsible for addressing defects in workmanship or materials within a specified time frame. This ensures peace of mind for the homeowner, knowing that issues will be rectified without additional costs.
Value Preservation: A good warranty helps protect the value of the home by ensuring that any defects are repaired early, preventing further damage or deterioration that could diminish the property’s worth.
Resale Value: Homes with a valid warranty may have a higher resale value, as buyers are more confident in the quality and longevity of the property when backed by a reliable warranty.
